The Bar of the Fox and Hounds is intimate, welcoming and stocked with carefully chosen beers and wines. Sioned manages the cellar and keeps the beers in perfect condition for the discerning drinker. Regular local favourites like Hook Norton Brewery’s Best Bitter (Oxfordshire) and Purity Brewery’s Ubu (Warwickshire) are supported by guest beers from smaller producers around the country.

The wine list features vintages from around the world but these have been carefully chosen predominantly from single-estate vineyards. Our supplier, Alan Hunter of the Vineyards Wine Company, maintains a close connection with the producers of the wines. He says"

"I import wines that are created by small producers from areas in France and Italy [and soon Spain] that represent not only the region but the producers themselves.

The areas have a great history of wine production and the grape varieties are indigenous to the region, therefore the wines reflect authenticity and individuality. This is 'real wine' as opposed to an industrialised product; the French call it 'Expression de Terroir'

By spending time with the producers I am able to appreciate the importance of their quest to bring this quality into a market place dominated by volume production that lacks character and style."

In the Winter you can be sure to find a real log fire burning cheerily in the large inglenook fireplace to warm you while you enjoy our hospitality. In the warmer months you may choose to sit out on our sunny terrace and enjoy your drinks in the open air.
